An Artist to Keep An Eye On!

Last night I finally got to see one of my good friends, Chris Baker, perform live! He lives in New York but he had his LA debut show at Molly Malones in West Hollywood last night, and let me tell you, he blew me away. I have only seen Chris perform in his music videos (see below), and they are no comparison to seeing him live. Don’t get me wrong, his music videos are amazing, but watching him live you can feel Chris’ stage presence demanding everyone in the audience’s attention with ease. He has the presence and engaging qualities of a natural star. But the best part is that you can tell how much he loves what he is doing. His passion really shines through and that’s what makes him a true artist. When he is performing his energy floods the room and you feel as though you are experiencing all that joy and happiness with him. Not to mention his voice is incredible, even his little serenade of Happy Birthday to one of his friends in the audience during the performance was heart melting.

Chris is like the more relatable male-version of Lady Gaga with his addictive electronic beats and edgy style. He rocked the stage last night in some incredible silver metallic Maison Martin Margiela sneakers, and a silver-studded black leather jacket. Oh and did I mention he went to Harvard?

Overall, I could not be more proud of and happy for Chris. He’s come such a long way. It was only a year or so ago that he was belting out songs and madly typing lyrics on his Blackberry when we were in Croatia together. Now he is performing on both coasts, has his EP out, as well as several music videos, and is more passionate and driven than ever. Go Baker!!

Watch out for Chris, he is definitely going to be a star of the music industry in the near future.
